Welcome to the kingdom of the Marmots...
 
 
  "Bonjour, after two years of hard word, I am pleased to welcome you to a real mountain refuge. "


We have room for up to 53 people, in dormitories of 2 to 10 places. We can offer an evening meal of home made soup, roast pork and creamed potatoes or « fondue savoyarde », followed by cheese and dessert.

Open everyday from 10 June to 17 September
(outside of these dates, upon request only).

And for that extra touch that makes all the difference……our wine list, which is definitely worth a try (organic wines,…).

 

During the day we serve a selection of meals, drinks, snacks….our specialties :
the farcement and Blueberry juice.
For summer 2006, we will be extending our menu to give you more choice.

"I would highly recommend that you try to arrive in the middle of the afternoon, to make the most of the peaceful mountain atmosphere, giving you a feeling of getting away from il all….and then of course, there is our wine list ! " Bruno Pezet.

                           Some History ... 


You can see on the photograph the descendants of Alfred Wills in visit with the refuge in 2004 with his grand-grand son of the name of Alfred Wills (in red).

He gave its name to the current refuge, built by the commune of Sixt in 1980-1981, which is with the site of the old mountain pasture of Anterne (Country cottages of Anterne) which was used by the "communiers" of Sixt during the summer (the “Fonds” is the twin mountain pasture for spring and the autumn), the mountain pasture was repurchased by the commune of Passy in 1901 and was given up in 1961. We are thus on the commune of Passy but in property of Sixt Fer à Cheval.

                           How to come and see ... 

By plane: Geneva Airport Switzerland (60 km from Samoëns and 65 to Sixt)
By road:  895km from Calais
Motorway A40 Geneva-Chamonix. Exit Cluses-Scionzier, then Samoëns about 20 mins and Sixt
By train: Cluses SNCF station, 20 km from Samoëns

... then take the D907 to Sixt Fer à cheval. Follow the signs the "cascade du Rouget" and further to the "Lignon"
